Choice Scarf / Choice BandDescription
Garchomp was once an absolute king of Pokémon back in the days of Gen IV, and it is still able to keep up even in the unforgiving environment of Radical Red Hardcore's endgame. It has devastating offensive power, a good variety in movepool, respectable Speed that is perfectly workable with a Scarf, and decent durability. Earthquake is the one constant in its moveset for obvious reasons. Outrage is the better Dragon option for raw power (and is the only move here that needs to be kept on due to it being an Egg move), while Dual Chop is more reliable and breaks Sash. Shadow Claw may seem like a random move choice, but is absolutely crucial as it one-shots Agatha's Calyrex-S with a Scarf. After Agatha, it can be swapped out to Iron Head. Stone Edge is chosen as the last move since it is arguably Garchomp's best remaining coverage option. Choice Scarf is the main choice for most of the E4, as it allows Garchomp to outspeed and heavily damage or outright destroy mons that would outspeed and kill it otherwise, the most notable examples being Zacian-Crowned, Calyrex-S, Eternamax Eternatus, and Arceus-Steel. Choice Band is preferable for Lance to hit Melmetal, Primal Dialga, and Dragonite as hard as possible. It may not be able to mindlessly destroy everything, but with the right Choice item and moves, Garchomp can be a valuable asset that can destroy many key threats in the endgame.
