Thanks to the buffs in Speed and Sp.Atk and being one of the few mons to learn Draco Barrage by level, Tropius can take profit of the permanent sun in Blaine's gym to outspeed and OHKO 5 out of 6 mons out of the said gym leader. Modest is the best nature to enhance Tropius damage output, since thanks to Chrolophyll Tropius can outspeed every mon on Blaine's team, even Venusaur by 2 points. Expert Belt Solar Beam is a guaranteed OHKO to both Sandy Shocks and Great Tusk, Draco Barrage is a guaranteed OHKO to Mega-Zard X and Weather Ball is a guaranteed 2HKO while Tropius can tank any hit a neutral Venusaur can produce. In the case of Walking Wake, Tropius needs Life Orb to have the highest consistent roll to kill with Draco Barrage (93.8%), with Expert Belt the roll gets significantly lower (43.8%). U-turn is a pivotal tool to switch out on the very guaranteed Ho-Oh switch in. Hidden Power Rock is a niche pick and only really useful to finish Ho-Oh once Phoenix Down has been activated, and even then it's not guaranteed, it's a 50/50 to kill, although the recoil from Brave Bird will finish what's left from the legendary bird.
