This set is very useful for the fight Vs. Archer and Ariana in Cerulean Cave after Blaine, which is convenient as that's when Regieleki becomes available. Regieleki at level 79 can outspeed and outright OHKO Archer's Durant, do massive damage to Mega Houndoom with Thunderbolt and 2HKO with Volt Switch, break Mimikyu's Disguise for free with Volt Switch and do a similar amount of damage once the disguise is broken, and is heavily favored to 2HKO Mamoswine with HP Water. Rhyperior is easily 2HKO'd from HP Water, Honchkrow is OHKO'd and outsped, and Mega Mawile is 2HKO'd by Volt Switch. As a bonus, at full HP, Regieleki lives a Sucker Punch from Mawile assuming a crit doesn't land. Magnet is the item of choice as it gives a modest boost to its already strong Electric attacks without locking into a move or taking recoil. Extreme Speed is there as an emergency move as Archer and Ariana have many forms of strong priority such as Ice Shard and Sucker Punch. For best results, pair Regieleki with good defensive checks that can slowly U-turn and bring it back in for free, such as Rocky Helmet Corviknight. Also, Regieleki does not handle Hatterene that well, so make sure your team can compensate for that. Overall, Regieleki's blistering speed and good damage output makes it a fine choice, but be cautious of Regieleki's low bulk.

Description
While not a complete counter, Regieleki has an amazing matchup against the penultimate showdown with your rival should he have taken Squirtle as his starter. Possessing the highest speed stat in the game, it is fast enough to outrun Swift Swim Basculegion, post-Autotomize Celesteela, and post-Shell Smash Mega Blastoise without needing a +speed nature. With an Expert Belt equipped, Thunder is a guaranteed one shot on all three of these while being guaranteed to hit thanks to the battle’s permanent rain. Zapdos gets two shot by Thunder and does not one shot Eleki in return with either Weather Ball or Supersonic Skystrike, making it a fine lead. Volt Switch is used for getting out of there once Goodra or Ferrothorn hit the field, as your other members should be way better equipped to deal with them. That being said, Explosion is a roll to one shot Goodra, though I wouldn’t recommend doing this unless all four of the Thunder targets are already down. Hidden Power Fighting is your most damaging option against Ferrothorn should Eleki need to finish it off at low health. Thunderbolt is a backup option if you’re concerned about PP management for Thunder, though it does rely on damage rolls. Lonely nature is to improve Explosion’s roll against Goodra, and Mild does the same for Thunderbolt and HP Fighting. Give it Expert Belt if running HP Fighting, and Magnet if running Thunderbolt.
