Description
While not the form you would associate with Sun, Alolan Ninetales can be a formidable, albeit semi-luck dependent option against Hardcore Blaine. When boosted by Never-Melt Ice, Blizzard is a guaranteed one shot on Great Tusk and a roll on Sandy Shocks. Freeze Dry one shots Walking Wake, though you do have to win the speed tie. Against Venusaur, Icy Wind into Frost Breath is your best bet, as its Sun Weather Ball deals 98% max to Ninetales, and the speed debuff will make it slightly slower than you on the following turn. If either Ho-oh or Charizard come in, it’s best to swap to a teammate so Ninetales can take on one of the other four later in the fight. However, if you must stay in, I would go for Icy Wind against Charizard to negate a potential Dragon Dance speed boost, or Frost Breath against Ho-oh. With Serene Grace, Frost Breath has a 60% chance to inflict Frostbite, so you may be able to at least weaken its Solar Beam for an ally to take advantage of.
